Wearable snow sleds are the easy way to enjoy winter sledding. These fun toys strap onto the shins and act as a cross between a sled and skis. The idea is to run to the top of a hill, and then drop to your knees and slide down. The sled legs are available in two sizes, small for riders 4’5” to 5’, and weighing less than 123 pounds, and large for riders who are 5’ and up and weigh up to 250 pounds. They can be purchased in a variety of colors.
Intended for teens and up, these personalized sleds can be a lot of fun. Use the usual precautions you would employ for any winter snow sport, such as helmets and planned sledding areas. The sleds strap on, as previously mentioned. They consist of an outer shell and an inner layer thick cushioning. Feet should be covered with thick boots and the toes point backward and are used for steering and for braking. Hands can also be used for steering, so thick gloves are also a good idea.
These Wearable Snow Sleds can easily be used on any hill where you might normally ride an ordinary sled. They have the advantage of not having to be hauled back up to the top of the hill because the users are wearing them. They are also relatively small and therefore easy to load in a car or truck.
